Frequently Asked Questions

What type of reminders can I receive?

With OnCellRx® you can schedule and receive any kind of message you want. These reminders are unlimited and will be sent to your Inbox - wherever you get your email.
OnCellRx® offers simple quick text reminders to choose from, like: "Take pills now". You can also enter your own customized message. You can even link medication names to the reminder if you choose.

How many alerts can I schedule per day?

There is no limit. Since many medications are taken several times a day, schedule as many reminders as you want or need. It's all up to you.

Can the schedule be changed after it's been set up?

Absolutely. Log into your secure OnCellRx® account and tweak your schedule any time. Many subscribers revise their alert schedule for vacations, out-of-town meetings, or when adding or changing medications. Make all the changes you need and as often as necessary… whatever works for you.

Will my alerts be delivered precisely at the scheduled time?

All alerts are schedule in 15 minute increments. Depending on user traffic, there may be a slight delay of a few minutes, but alerts should be well within the 1-hour window that is considered "on time" for most medications. If more precise dosing schedules are required, use the full-featured OnTimeRx® Medication Reminder software. (Palm® or PocketPC® PDA required).

What if I can't take my medication right when I receive the alert?

Your OnCellRx® email message will remain in your smartphone or desktop Inbox until read or deleted. However, an additional "backup alert" might be helpful for certain situations. Simply schedule a second alert 15-30 minutes after the first one to make sure you don't forget any truly critical medications.

I use OnTimeRx® now. Why would I use OnCellRx® alerts, too?

This alert system can be used in conjunction with OnTimeRx®. Some people use a PDA at home only and may use OnCellRx® to send alerts to a PC at work or to their BlackBerry or smartphone only during working hours. Use any combination that works best for you. Something new - OnCellRx® offers various printouts that are only available to OnCellRx® subscribers.

If I'm in an area with no cellphone service, or the signal strength is too low, will I still receive my alerts on my smartphone?

Obviously, if your phone is out of range, out of juice, or switched off, you won't receive much of anything. OnCellRx® will always send reminders as scheduled, but we have no way of guaranteeing those will get through to you.
